NEW BEGINNINGS BEAUTY SALON

"SIMPLY THE BEST IN HAIR CARE"

SLAVERY IN AMERICA

Before Dark & Lovely, the pressing comb, or the North Atlantic slave trade,Africans celebrated the richness and beauty of their natural hair.Using  mud, clay and butters and decorative combs, beads and shells, black women took great pride in creating impressive hairstyles--which many would classify as high art. In pre-slavery Africa, a woman's hairstyle marked important life events, such as puberty , marriage or the birth of a new child. Her hair was also inevitably tied to her identity and reflected her age, social status, religion and tribal affiliation.

FREEDOM
A majority of young black women believe that they must wear their hair straight in order to succeed socially and professionally, there's clearly a problem.Fortunately, we can understand how these beliefs have evolved and come to have so much power over us.Then we can choose to abandon them and celebrate the beauty and power that is truly our birthright!

MY BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL

Black women are among the most beautiful women in the world, yet society has sought to conceal this obvious fact for centuries. This is the time of month for us to embrace our roots, and appreciate our BEAUTIFUL natural hair!

As we continue to learn about ourselves, we can better apppreciate the impact that historical events have had our perceptions of identity, especially as it relates to hair.Once we accept our natural texture for what it is, we can more freely embrace the true beauty that lies within.

I think my natural hair is UNMANAGEABLE!!

A lot of people thinking to make this transition believe that natural hair is unmanageable, but guess what ? nothing could be further from the truth. The media and relaxer manufacturers have done an excellent job of tricking us all into believing that our natural hair requires a miracle simply to maintain . The truth is that natural hair is just as manageable as relaxed hair and often gives your hair greater freedom and flexibility.Once you've mastered the basic grooming techniques and have found products that your hair likes/responds to,caring for your natural hair will be easy as 1, 2, 3!
